The power plant at Tiszapalkonya is located on the bank of the River Tisza near the town of Tiszaújváros, in the north-east region of Hungary. It is one of the sites of the Borsod Energetic Ltd. purchased by AES in 1996. This is a coal fired, condensing, base load power generation utilising a locally mined supply of brown coal, it has a common range system and common feed water supply. The plant was put into operation between 1957 and 1959. |
